Silkscreen
Silkscreening is commonly used in sheet metal fabrication to apply labels, graphics, part numbers, and instructional markings directly onto finished parts. The process involves transferring ink through a patterned screen onto the metal surface after fabrication and finishing to ensure clarity and durability. When properly applied, silkscreening provides long-lasting, easy-to-read markings that enhance part identification, functionality, and overall appearance.
Prior to silkscreening, O.E.M. Precision prepares parts to ensure proper ink adhesion, clarity, and durability of the printed markings. Surfaces are cleaned and inspected to remove any residue, oils, or contaminants, and parts are verified to meet finishing and flatness requirements based on customer specifications. Ink selection, screen setup, and curing methods are performed in accordance with supplier technical data sheets to ensure long-lasting, legible graphics that meet both functional and cosmetic requirements.

Once prepared, silkscreen application is completed with careful alignment and controlled ink deposition to maintain consistent print quality across all parts. Silkscreening requirements are evaluated based on part size, complexity, and production volume. When silkscreening cannot be performed in house due to size or process limitations, O.E.M. Precision utilizes qualified suppliers from our Approved Supplier List (ASL) to support these requirements. OEM Precision manages and controls all screens internally to ensure correct revisions are used and to prevent damage, loss, or print inconsistencies, maintaining quality and traceability throughout the process.
